About me

Share the joy

Hello, my name is Mark and like many of you folks out there I love to hunt and fish, all aspects of it. Of course there is much more than strictly hunting and fishing out there for putting food on the table such as frog gigging, oyster pulling, swamp cabbage, etc., but I just couldn’t find a way to get it all in a website title.

I grew up in central Florida many years ago, back when there were no pink flamingos in yards and purchasing a fishing license was considered an oddity. Yep, I long for those days again but have recently come to the conclusion that it is possible to have our cake and eat too, even on a tight budget or perhaps no budget depending on our situations.

I truly believe a big key in surviving these strange and hectic times is to shut off the world for a bit now and then. There is no better way of doing it than feeding that primal instinct for hunting and fishing or any other activity that provides sustenance minus the flow of $$$.

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love hunting on a high dollar lease or catching the big one on a charter boat. In my case it’s just not a sustainable activity, I can’t pay $700 dollars to fish off a boat to catch $50 worth of fish as often as I would like.

That’s what got me interested in finding out how the millions of other like-minded folks out there go about it because I know it’s not just me that thinks this way.

So thanks for checking out the website. It is a work in progress so please come back soon and most importantly leave your input.

Feel free to contact me via e-mail as well

God Bless,

  1. I think this is a great site. Keep doing what you are doing now. Believe me it will grow. There are some of us oldtimers out here that are unable to participate in these activities, so we relive them thru sites such as this. I would like for some of the pictures to be larger or be able to make them larger. AND you need to get a GoPro camera. Need some videos of your activities. Again a great site. Roger

    1. Thanks Roger, yea I know I need to add video, that will be my next investment. Right now I’m more worried about groceries and things like that but once I get ahead a video camera is high on the list. Being able to make pictures larger is a great idea, I’m having to keep my plugins to a minimal right now though to keep the website from getting sluggish.

  2. Excellent site, I found your content very good and very true.

  3. What a great site. Thanks for the ideas. I am thinking that leading with products may not be as successful as content that helps me know and trust you however, at least I know where the find those products as I do.
