I had a great fishing trip up a small creek near the Monocacy Creek Fishing VideosAqueduct in Dickerson, MD and thought I would capture it in these Creek Fishing Videos .

DSCN1038The creek was a very short walk from the Aqueduct parking lot. Just head left down the trail and it is the first creek you come to.

Once you reach the creek you will notice it flows from under a bridge to your right and there is nothing but woods to your left. Look close and you will see a small game trail through the woods to your left. This trail will bring you out to where this picture was taken.  Also, you really don’t see the bridge from the hiking trail, it looks like the creek is just flowing from under the ground.

The following video was taken under the bridge I’m standing on.

These videos were taken just a short walk up the creek.

It was a great time and man how beautiful. Fishing under the bridge was my favorite. The Aqueduct was built sometime between 1829 and 1833 so the bridge I was under would be the same age.

Hope you don’t mind but I had something on my mind all day so I took advantage of having the recorder out and being in such a wonderful place to record it. Off topic a bit from fishing but the setting was perfect. I noticed a major error in the grammar, fecal matter, is what I meant to say. Shame you can edit video recordings.

Hope you enjoyed the post and look forward to hearing your comments. God bless and go fishing.

  1. Awesome musing on broken pieces. Definitely inspiring to me and, I’m sure, to anyone else who views it. Keep musing and keep fishing.

    1. Thanks so much jomax. God willing I will keep doing both. Kind comments such as yours is wonderful motivation to continue doing what I love. I remember you commenting on catching a nice Red Fish, bet it tasted good!!

    1. So glad you liked it Carolyn and thanks so much for checking it out. The final thoughts just had to be said, can’t explain it, just burning need to get said. Please come back soon.

  2. Looks great – you’re obviously really passionate about fishing and it really shows through.
Did you manage to catch anything?
I love your “final thoughts” video – I think most people have to go through that phase of having absolutely nothing in order to really change their lives and see what they can do!! 🙂

    1. Heck yea Zoe, caught bass and lots of warmouth perch. Yes, fishing is a passion of mine, caught it from my Dad. Thanks for your comments and stopping by. By the way, love your site name, conformancefugitive, going to go check that out now.

  3. This looks like an awesome place.
I am not very interested in fishing myself but I admire you going all the way there and sharing your experience.

I think folks who are interested in fishing or visiting this location would be grateful for your information.
    Keep it up!

PS: You have a very cool accent.

    1. Well thanks Anh Nguyen. Bet if you give fishing a try you will be interested for the rest of your life. Be careful, its addictive.

Accent? didn’t know I had one, though my wife would agree with you:)

  4. Hi Mark,
What pretty thoughts. The truth that I wanted all my life to enjoy the experience of fishing but I’ve only done a couple of times; although my son in law is a fishing lover, I have not been able to do it. But seeing your videos I had the excitement of that moment go fishing and feel that adrenaline myself. Thanks to your advice and please continue with your thoughts and your hobby.

    1. So nice of you to comment Renan. I think the world would be a better place if more people got out in God’s creation and enjoyed the solitude. Truly hope you will get an opportunity to go fishing soon, When you do, please come back and let me know how it went.

  5. Your passion for fishing is only surpassed by your passion for Christ. Wow what a combination ! Can’t wait to read your next blog. Happy fishing.

  6. Great videos! I love fishing and being in the presence of what God created such peace can be found when we get away from work and everyday life and alone in our thoughts. Right on in your final thoughts video , God can and will turn something broken into something beautiful we only have to turn it all over to him. Keep in fishing!

    1. Ah, thanks Kelly. Sounds like we are of the same mind. Just wish we could all not try to take things back after we give them to God. I have to relearn that lesson so often. Please check back again soon.

  7. This looks like it was a wonderful time for you, and it epitomizes why I am an avid fisherman now and have been since growing up as a young tyke on Rainy Lake, Minnesota…

Your detail and pics plus videos added a lot to this article, and really brings it home to the reader what this trip was for you and what fishing is in general!

Thanks for sharing, and I have bookmarked your page, there is a lot more good info that interests me here! Have a wonderful day and good fishin’!!

    1. Thanks so much Dave. I would love to make it up to the land of 10 000 lakes one day and try my hand at fishing there. You are very fortunate to grow up where access to fishing is so plentiful.

This was my first true attempt at adding a lot of videos within a post and it is wonderful to hear that it added meaning to the content.

I appreciate the visit and book mark tremendously and look forward to talking with you in the future.

  8. Thanks for the information and especially your personal video about our broken pieces. I was raised by great christian parents.
But, we still had many broken times in our lives. Whenever I gave those broken pieces to God, the weight was lifted and I felt at peace again. It is not magic and life will not turn into a rose garden, but facing the new challenges will be an easier task when God is with you in the journey. Thanks again. You have lifted me up today and my faith is firm again.

    1. I know well the feeling of peace when you turn it over to God Cal. I think a big problem for all of us is we eventually start taking back the peaces and have to learn the lesson over again. Having peace through a crisis is amazing, I simply don’t know how people cope who aren’t believers.

Thanks so much for your comment, it means the world to me. God bless you brother.

  9. I’m glad I came across this page. It looks like you really found a nice little spot. There is nothing better than being out by yourself in a nice quiet fishing spot. Thanks for uploading the videos. They definately made me want to be there! Bookmarked your page and I’ll be sure to come back in the future. Happy fishing Mark!

    1. Thanks so much Tim, that means a lot to me. So glad you enjoyed it and yes, it was a beautiful spot. I found that spot by looking at areas on google earth. It is a great way to hit some of the more obscure places. One of the nice things about creeks is you can’t own them. So, as long as you stay in the creek there really isn’t anywhere you can’t go.

So glad you book marked me. Look forward to talking with you again.

  10. Looks like an awesome spot to fish! Do you use any bait or special lures that you would recommend for small creek fishing?

I’m really only familiar with fishing in the lake/ocean so this is a whole new environment.

Do you use worms or is it just a simple hook? I couldn’t exactly tell in the video.

Anyways good luck with your fishing, your passion really shows through!

    1. Travis,

I was using a small white jig in the videos. It is a small white worm with a spiral tail on a hook that has a small head on it. Beetle spins are another good option.

The key is to get as far away from people as possible. Try to go where no one else goes, if you find that, its hard to go wrong.

Thanks so much for checking my post out.

  11. Wow, it seems so peaceful where you went and your fishing trip. I admire your lifestyle. I’m always busy with everyday tasks and pursuing my goals, so I’ve been trying to figure out a hobby that will get me away from my tasks and the creekfishing is very tempting. Thank you for your wonderful article and videos.

    1. Thanks Joon, I don’t think you could go wrong picking up fishing to get away from the daily grind of life. Truly hope you get an opportunity to give it try. Please come back and let us know how it goes.

      May God bless you.

  12. Hello, your fishing trip looks amazing. I like fishing too, especially at places where you can hear and feel the nature. Also the videos you have taken are amazing, I hope you caught a lot of fish, but even if you didn’t i think it has been quite an adventure as it seems!

    1. Thanks hsp, it has been quite a ride…there are times I don’t catch a thing but short of a trip that I buried a hook through my finger, I can honestly say I have enjoyed them all.

  13. I have always loved fishing videos & wish that I could live a life like this.

Did you manage to catch anything huge for the day?

Love how passionate you are in the video itself & I have to say, when you really love what you’;re doing, it shows on your face & reflects in your everyday lives.

    1. Nothing huge Lee but lots of fish and lots of fun. It is the best way to get your exercise, I have been amazed at how far I walked during a creek fishing trip without even knowing it.

  14. Really great site you have here. Love the videos and pictures. It was like I was with you on your trip. I’m going to bookmark your site so I can see what other great things you have on herewhen I have more time. Thank you for sharing your experience. I do have one question though, what type of camera are you using?

    1. Sorry for the delay in replying Jeremy. Thanks for the kind words. To be honest I don’t know what kind of camera I was using, a relative gave it to me for my website and it served me well. Not sure when I going to be able to start things back up again.
